Recent months you have shown interest in the Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship program, given year 2010-2011. The CTE program helps students to improve their entrepreneurial skills and is open to all master, PDEng and PHD students. The certificate is awarded jointly by the Department Industrial Engeneering and the TU/e Innovation Lab. The program will be supported by the Brabant Center of Entrepreneurship, www.bc-e.nl. Coordinators of the Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship program are Ivo George (organization), Prof.Dr. Leo Verhoef (content) and Dr. Myriam Cloodt.
The certificate program has three components (year 2010-2011):
• Courses Total of 9 ECTS (credits) from a Basic Entrepreneurship Course and two electives selected from a list of entrepreneurial courses (see the master’s brochure Entrepreneurship Program);
• Skills training sessions and assessment Within the CTE program the BCE organizes 12 skills training sessions. Each student will follow a minimum of 6 sessions recommended on the basis of a personal assessment.
• Final Project The most important part of the CTE program is the Final Project. The business plan ideas are taken from research being done at the TU/e or business ideas presented by the students themselves. TU/e ideas will generally need some fleshing out, in terms of both the technology itself and its economic potential. Since no single person generally possesses the knowledge required for this, several projects based on the same idea are sometimes combined (for students from different disciplines).
Because the first semester starts in late August, we have scheduled an information meeting on August the 25th 2010, from 15.00 to 16.30 pm in Multi Media Pavilion (MMP) room 1.
We invite you to attend this meeting. You can register for this meeting by sending an e-mail to i.g.j.george@tue.nl. To register for the CTE-program, please send an e-mail as well so that I can returm the registration form.
For more information you can contact Ivo George via i.g.j.george@tue.nl or (040) 247 8995.
