TU/e offers a Certificate in Technology Entrepreneurship (CTE) for master’s students interested in starting their own business. The CTE program, open to all master’s candidates, helps students to improve their entrepreneurial skills. The certificate is awarded jointly by the Department of Industrial Engineering & Innovation Sciences and TU/e Innovation Lab. The Brabant Center of Entrepreneurship organizes and coordinates the CTE-program.
The certificate program has three components: • Courses 9 ECTS (credits) from a Basic Entrepreneurship Course and two electives selected from a list of entrepreneurial courses (see the master’s brochure Entrepreneurship Program);
• Skills training sessions and assessment Within the CTE program the BCE organizes 12 skills training session. Each student will follow a minimum of 6 sessions recommended on the basis of a personal assessment.
• Final Project The most important part of the CTE program is the Final Project. This is mostly based on an innovative idea that has been developed at TU/e. This idea will generally need some fleshing out, in terms of both the technology itself and its economic potential. Since no single person generally possesses the knowledge required for this, several projects based on the same idea are sometimes combined (for students from different disciplines). It is also always possible, of course, that a student has his/her own idea they want to develop.
The program is offered twice a year. Informational meetings are given before the start of each semester and announced on the BCE and TU/e website. Registration forms can also be requested from the website: www.bc-e.nl.
We have scheduled an information meeting on July 15th 2010, at 15.00 pm in Multi Media Pavilion (MMP) room 1.
For more information please visit our website (www.bc-e.nl) or contact Ivo George (040) 247 8995.
